01What changes in Adelaide
SA Government says tow trucks are dispatched to road crashes in metropolitan Adelaide through a centralised Accident Towing Roster Scheme and publishes the certification path for drivers and operators. The state’s road-user guidance says the crash-scene driver should receive an Authority to Tow form. A local campaign should therefore direct accident intent to the roster process where it applies, while using its normal booking flow for owner-requested breakdown and trade transport.
Gawler, Tea Tree Gully, Marion and Onkaparinga span a broad metropolitan area, and the correct dispatch, travel and destination depend on the incident location and towing category. The form should identify vehicle mass, wheel condition, collision damage, underground clearance and whether the vehicle obstructs traffic, without asking the customer to stand in danger. A roster certificate or operator authority must be current before it appears in advertising.
Repair work, storage, salvage and secondary transport should not be bundled into the initial authority without clear agreement. For non-accident work, pricing should state call-out, distance, after-hours and recovery assumptions after the truck and route are confirmed.
